This is Demons to Diamonds on the Atari 2600, a game that had to be created by somebody high as a kite, because you shoot demons and they turn into diamonds and then you shoot them. It's a concept so simple that I can't believe it took until 1982 to come up with it.

It's a fun game. You use the Atari paddle controllers, which I'm a huge fan of. It's very challenging, it does not get boring, and does have a nice two-player mode, which I don't show here, but the second player would be on top of the screen shooting down.

And it's a fun game. This is actually one that I highly recommend picking up and playing again.

What surprises me is that this game hasn't had a resurgence in popularity thanks to gangster rap music. Because you shoot demons and they turn into diamonds. Now you could collect those diamonds and bespeckle your watch or your Bentley. You could cover yourself in diamonds and put them on your teeth and...

I mean, this is a good concept. I think that Demons to Diamonds 2 should be coming out for the PS3 or the Xbox 360 soon.

If you watch the footage closely you'll notice that you shoot the red demons and they turn into diamonds. And you get very few points for shooting the red ones, for shooting the red demons, and a lot of points for shooting the diamonds.

If you shoot the white ones they turn into skulls that shoot back at you. The game picks up speed quickly and gets very challenging. It's a nice mixture of Space Invaders and Breakout are one of those kind of games. And I really like Demons to Diamonds.

This game also dispels the myth that diamonds are a girl's best friend. The fact is, Atari is a girl's best friend. Or at least it should be.
