It's hard to remember that in 2008 you couldn't just shoot a video with your phone. Social media, for the most part, didn't exist (it wasn't called that yet, anyway.) There were no influencers. There was no creator economy. YouTube was a brand-new thing, and not just anyone could shoot a video on tape and upload it.

"Some fans remembered the early 1999-2000 run and asked if we'd ever make more. I (Mark) was coming out of my documentary career and looking to move on, but I saw something with YouTube. After experimenting with a few videos here and there, I decided to bring "The Game Room" back as Classic Game Room HD on YouTube in February and made it up as I went along. I used documentary filmmaking gear back them, which is why we produced so many videos so quickly in the early days. 2008 was awesome. Nobody else was making a serious but quirky review show like Classic Game Room, and viewers loved it. This era isn't my favorite videos, the narrations are all pretty stale, but you have to remember that at the time, nobody else was doing anything like this."
