It’s Mandalorian Pinball from Stern. Is everyone ready for ten minutes of my sloppy pinball gameplay combined with nonsensical Star Wars ramblings beyond imagination If so, buckle up, for I have spoken. This game airs on the side of Lando more than Jar Jar. The Mandalorian Pinball from Stern is fabulous. Based on the hit Disney series, thank the maker they got this one right. Because if you look up “inconsistent” in the dictionary, you’ll get a picture of Star Wars these days.
Star Wars. Remember when it was just three movies and an Atari game and an Ewok TV series and some action figures Well, now it’s everywhere. On one end we get Lando Calrissian and Andor. On the other end it’s Jar Jar Binks and… well, so many other things. I’m glad to see that the developers of this game focused on the best parts of The Mandalorian, which for the most part, at least for the first two seasons, was excellent.
I haven’t really had a chance to speak much about The Mandalorian until now, so I’ll abuse my platform to say that the first two seasons were excellent. Totally enjoyed it. Like a western in space, which is pretty much what Star Wars was to begin with. I have spoken.
My Spider Multiball. It’s like Aliens with spiders. Mando even brought his flamethrower. As you’ll see during this video, the Stern designers cherry‑picked all the cool stuff out of The Mandalorian and managed to insert it into this very well‑made and consistent pinball machine. Stern’s been on fire lately. I’ve really enjoyed their games. They never go overboard with the LEDs like some of those other companies. I like the inclusion of the Razor Crest, which just reminds me of the ship from Firefly. Obviously Baby Yoda’s in there, who I just call Grobduck.
Which isn’t his name, but it should be his name, named after the Namco arcade game nobody’s ever heard of. And of course we get Carl Weathers all over this machine, which is win‑win because anything that ties it to Predator is a good thing. The screen animations, voice dialogue, and film clips are perfect. They really enhance the gameplay, and the music, anchored by the incredible Mandalorian theme song, is spot‑on and really well used in the gameplay and on this machine. Obviously I can’t play you any of it because, you know, God forbid I actually play any music from the game in a journalistic review. But you know the theme. You know it’s there. It sounds really good.
The playfield is really well laid out and the art design is great. I don’t think Stern did anything overly complicated with this one. It’s pretty straightforward and a lot of fun. As you would expect going into Mandalorian Pinball, you complete Mandalorian missions and start numerous multiballs. So many multiballs. The best way to rack up big points is to just hammer away at the multiball thing, which is right in the middle.
Razor Crest Multiball. Ice Spider Multiball. Aim for the blinking lights—blue, green, red, whatever—and score big points. There’s a Mandalorian machine at Coop DeVille in Pittsburgh, and I’ve played it a bunch. Pinball, arcade games, and beer: the three things that make life worth living. Godzilla from Stern is still my favorite, but this one’s up there.
Thanks to Coop DeVille and Kickback Cafe for helping me film these machines. Some of my favorite reviews over the years have been Orbiter One, RoboCop, Future Spa, and Surfer. There’s a lot of Star Wars out there these days. Maybe too much. Do we really need Star Wars toothpaste Or Star Wars animation about whatever
The Obi‑Wan series was… well, it was something. The Mandalorian started strong. Season one was surprising and fun. Season two was also tons of fun. Loved the ending of season two. And then season three just tanked the entire thing. Now I don’t care. Less backflipping Baby Yoda, more Cassian Andor and real filmmaking, please.
But you know what sells backpacks and gummy vitamins It’s not storytelling.
In conclusion, there’s a lot of great Star Wars things out there right now. You can always watch Rogue One again for the thousandth time. Andor was about the best TV show I’ve seen in years. Star Wars Visions is really cool and I totally enjoy The Bad Batch. In addition, we get some cool Star Wars pinball machines like the Star Wars machine from Stern and The Mandalorian.
The force is strong with this pinball machine. In fact, one might say this game is totally Lando. This game doesn’t actually suck today. It’s because I made one of Jar Jar in between takes.
