Valkyria Chronicles - PlayStation 3

Lead your country to victory! Valkyria Chronicles rocks the PS3 with tactical strategy that drops players onto the battlefield to play their turns in real-time. A strong story combined with stylish cut scenes, good music and excellent strategy make this one of the best releases on the PlayStation 3.

One of the best games from the 7th gen. Gorgeous visuals, fantastic music, and some challenging combat makes this one of the best SRPGs ever made.

Now this is a gem for the PS3. For anyone with a PS3, find the demo and at least try this. I did years ago and became hooked. The overall look of the game is so different from most things out there. My one complaint: the way the game scores you for victory. Speed of completion for each mission is how you get a good score. It would have been nice to get the same number of points for defeating all enemies, but using more time. But that is only one minor thing I can complain about it.

wow this game is amazing. truly an underrated gem on the ps3. from the fictional ww2 style story line to the breathtaking art style. this game is totally worth your time if you like srpg's. the story and characters also add a lot to the experience, along with crisp sound and voice acting. overall i say get this game for your ps3 you will not regret it.

One of the best SRPGs made with deep and challenging battles. The manual aiming and movement really added to the interaction instead of having everything take place on a grid like other games in the genre. The story, characters, sound, and art are all very well presented and is still one the best in the genre on the PS3 by far. The game ramps up in difficulty quickly though as some battles are really tough.

Characters you actually care about, plot twist that are unpredictable, WWII-themed art that is phenomenal (i bought the art book). Its not a run and gun kind of strategic game, careful planing and probability calculation are needed. The game requires a bit grinding if you want 100% complete but this pushes your strategic side to chose which map with who and who goes where to have the fastest clear time. A must have 6 stars outta 5

Amazing game. The gameplay is fantastic and the game looks great

One of the best games you can get on your PS3. The story is enticing, the art style is simply perfect, and even the English dubbing is done well. (John Dimaggio as a manly woman...or womanly man is absolutely hilarious, Jan is the man...i think). The turn based strategy this game brings to the table is done incredibly well. The only thing I can complain about is the length of the battles at certain points. But the game does well to make you forget that you've been playing for 6 hours straight.

Valkyria Chronicles is such a beautifully-made game; everything from the art style to the WWII-inspired storyline to the innovative gameplay to the lovable characters make this one of the best games on the PS3. The way you take controls of your troops in the battlefield, the atmosphere and memorable characters and story a truly underrated masterpiece. An interesting mix of strategy, RPG and third-person shooter elements, this is definitely one of my favorite games of all time

Ivalice Alliance
One of my favorite exclusives on the PS3. It's a shame that Valkyria Chronicles III never made it over, but the first two games are amazing. Hitoshi Sakimoto always does an amazing job with his music, and it fits perfectly well, with the theme of the game. It has an addicting battle system and the story was top-notch.

The Legend of Zelda - NES
"the original legend of Zelda is still my favorite in the series even though the only other one i played was ocarina of time and i was dissapointed with it. this one helped pave the way for the rest of them, and it only helped create tons of clones of the game and series. i wish i still had my portable legend of Zelda for the gameboy advance. a portable copy of the legend of Zelda oh yea!" - lukefonfabre388

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Wii
"I haven't played a lot of Zelda games, but Skyward Sword is definitely the game to incorporate nearly everything the series represents. What really makes SS shine is how the characters are portrayed. IMO, both Link and Zelda show more emotion in the majority of SS than they did in the entirety of Wind waker; I mean that! My only issue is Fi. While I like her character, she will get a tad annoying at times. Other than that, SS is a worthy title for the 25th anniversary." - cjmoore25

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Wii U
"Derek. What the heck? Did that rhyme. I'm not sure, but I am a little confused as to why you have not reviewed this. Seems right up your alley." - drockus

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Wii U
"Derek, if you happen to read this... you should check Undertow vids on youtube. There's a guy DEMANDING on countless videos that you review this game. It's a glorious game so even I can't understand why you haven't reviewed such a major Nintendo title yet. Hope you do. This game rocks!" - Penless
