The Golden Compass film adaptation received a lot of hype as the anti-Narnia. And while the video game adaptation of the film betrays the source material in light of delivering a purely entertaining enterprise, Shiny Entertainment has made a perfunctory platformer. You play as Lyra on her journey to save kidnapped children. Throughout the game you can use Lyra's friend, Pan, who is the manifestation of her soul. Pan can turn into several different animals, which helps navigate the different levels and puzzles. The levels are basically open puzzles, having you move around and talk to NPCs to complete objectives. Lorek is also a playable character in much larger, action oriented sequences. The game’s story follows the films, including some of the same voice actors as well.
