the second installment in the excellent doom franchise what could be better in life than blasting demons in the face with a double barrel shotgun and picking up the beserk powerup to puch demons so hard that captain falcon would be jealous also as many have said there are many many mods for this game so many you could spend the rest of eternity in hell and you might enjoy it too..

a pure classic that has aged gracefully for a lot of fans, though i find myself praising doom 3 more. doom 2 has some of the most amazing mods sadly only available on PC, so this version isn't the most recommended version imo. its a little dry on variation and wont do much more than play the classic which is still good, though i think you should definitely get doom 2 on PC and a few wads to play over skulltag instead.

I got this in the Doom 3 BFG edition pack. I never played this back in the day. I love the game play for the game, I just majorly dislike the controls so I got on steam and downloaded the PC version and modded it to the Brutal Doom version which is the version I recommend. If you feel like you must have it on PS3 or 360, then this one will work cause this is the original PC version with the original controls. Those controls just didn't age too well.

When I was 9 years old I told my Uncle Ron that I liked video games. He excitedly pulled me to his PC, and fired up Doom II. My mind was blown. I not seen anything like that before. At this point, of course, it's passe. But in its day, Doom II showed me that the science fiction of today could easily become the reality of tomorrow.

RECENT CGR COMMUNITY REVIEWS

 Forgotten Worlds - Sega Genesis
"Forgotten Worlds is another great inexpensive Gem on the Genesis! It's so addicting and fun to play! You play as two bad ass dudes on jet packs flying around the screen shooting anything that moves! The key to surviving is collecting money that drops from enemies. Doing so will enable you to purchase lives, armor, weapons and upgrades at the shops. The bosses are huge, the difficulty isn't too steep, and the music is awesome! There is nothing to complain about in this game! Get it now!" - Truxton4life

Fairchild Video Entertainment System - Fairchild Channel F
"It's pioneering use of programmable cartridges gave birth to a revolution that would be still felt in decades to come, but the system itself is very unimpressive, as are the games for it." - sherberttcat

 Adventure Island - NES
"I love this game. The platforming is solid, the music is much improved from the monotonous arcade music, and the graphics are excellent. But man is it hard!" - cammysbutt

 Kirby's Adventure - NES
"I love Kirby, and this is an excellent Kirby game. Graphics are an EASY 10/10! The music is also excellent as are the cute sound effects! This game does hold its value, though, so I emulate it. However, the difficulty is definitely low for an NES game. If you can find it cheap enough, it's a must have for the NES." - cammysbutt

 Kid Icarus - NES
"This is a game that holds its value, so I don't have it in my collection yet. However, through emulation, this is a really fun game. I love it to death!" - cammysbutt
