Sanrio's Badtz-Maru takes to the Game Boy Color in this amalgamation of a die-rolling boardgame and a gear-equipping RPG. It's all framed in the guise of a Robo-Battle tournament, where competitors pit their digital homunculi against one another in board game combat, complete with stat-altering spaces, wormholes to entirely different chunks of the board, HP-recovery houses, shops, and other effects. It's a nonlinear take on a classic gaming style.
Bad Badtz-Maru Robo Battle features vocal sound samples - a rarity on the Game Boy Color - and an extensive collection of weapons and armor to collect and upgrade. And to think, it's all about impressing/defeating his rival/sweetheart, Pandaba.
