The Golden Compass review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of The Golden Compass for Playstation 3 developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Sega. The Golden Compass is the interactive version of the movie of the same name. The game follows the events of the movie, using video from the film as cutscenes as you journey as Lyra. The game is objective based, as the player moves Lyra around environments talking to different characters to complete objectives. Lyra’s friend and soul, Pan, will also come in handy for movement and objectives as Pan can turn into different animals, each with their own special abilities. The game also has sections where the player controls Iorek, the giant bear for more combat oriented sections. The game follows the story, but the story can easily be lost on the player if they are unfamiliar with it, clearly showing this game was created for fans.
